Hot rolled coils: On May 12th, the average price of 4.75mm hot rolled coils in 24 major cities across the country was 3330 yuan/ton, an increase of 24 yuan/ton from the previous trading day. The trade conflict has eased to some extent, and driven by market sentiment, the prices of hot coil futures have opened higher and gone higher. From the perspective of demand, the seasonality of demand weakened in May, and the overall market resource digestion was relatively average.

Cold rolled coils: On May 12th, the average price of 1.0mm cold coils in 24 major cities across the country was 3860 yuan/ton, a decrease of 6 yuan/ton from the previous trading day. Market transactions have increased, inventory is being depleted, and the price difference between hot and cold continues to narrow.

Medium thick plate: On May 12th, the average price of 20mm ordinary plate in 24 major cities across the country was 3565 yuan/ton, an increase of 3 yuan/ton from the previous trading day. It is understood that the inventory of low-alloy resources in East China is relatively low and recent transactions have been acceptable, resulting in a significant increase in prices. Overall market demand was good on the 12th. The general board in markets such as Wu'an in the north is still in short supply, with better shipments than last Friday, but the market is more cautious and lacks momentum for price increases.
